Here is a really unique quick-fix, which involves powdering leftover rotis and using that coarse powder along with jaggery, ghee and nuts to prepare really delicious Quick Churma Ladoo. Churma laddus are made by rolling "churma" a sweet whole wheat flour mixture into laddus. In the state of Rajasthan people make Churma by grinding wheat flour fried balls and mix it with desi ghee, jaggery or sugar.
Steps to make Churma laddoos:
- In a large bowl add wheat flour besan and semolina mix these then add oil 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil and warm water and knead into a dough.
- Now take the dough and make shapes of a fist and fry these in oil till they are golden brown
- Then cut these into little shapes let them cool down and grind them to a powder and leave aside
- Now melt ghee in a pan and add the jaggery and melt the jaggery. Then add this mixture to the powder already prepared then add nutmeg and cardamon powder. Mix these well
- Using a mould make these laddoos and garnish with poppy seeds great dessert warm or cold after dinner 😊
This churma mixture is then rolled into laddus. There are different variations of this dish. Hence, ' Churma Ladoo ' is a recipe for ball shaped sweet made out of crumbled Bati, which is an unleavened bread, hard from outside but soft from inside, cooked in the desert areas of Rajasthan. This authentic recipe has been further enhanced by mixing different flours, spices and nuts. Churma ladoo is a festival sweet famous in Gujarat.
