- Season your fish and beef with salt and seasoning cube. Set on fire and allow to cook for about 5mins. Remove the the fish and set aside
- Peel, wash and cook your yam till tender and pound in a mota. Blend your peppers with crayfish and pour in the pot on fire. Leave to simmer for about 3 minutes and cut your pounded yam into lumps into pot. Cover and allow it to dissolve.
- Return your fish into the pot and cover to cook for another 2 to 3mins. Add your sliced utazi leaf,allow to simmer for another 1min. Your soup is ready!

It is a very rich fresh fish soup, traditionally made with Catfish. Efik people have their own version of White Soup, it's known as Afia Efere. I like a very light nsala soup, it tastes better that way. Once your white soup is thick enough and the pounded yams are well dissolved. You can now go ahead and add the sliced uziza and utazi leaves.
