  2. Make ready 1 cup Wheat flour

Traditionally make ki roti is prepared by flattening a dough ball However, This unleavened Indian style bread is not easy to roll as maize flour contains very less amount of gluten and sticks a lot. Heat the griddle and place the rolled roti/disc on it cook it on medium flame on both side , brush little oil /ghee on it and roast it on both side till brown. Mix makki ka atta, salt and vegetable oil in a bowl with your finger tips till everything is nicely combined. This dough will behave different than your regular wheat flour dough as their is no gluten in maize flour.

Steps to make Maize flour bread(makki di roti):
  1. In a bowl add maize flour,wheat flour Mix well and strain it.
  2. Than add required water and make a soft dough. Than make ball size and roll it.
  3. In low to medium flame heat the tawa and bake it. Like little brown colour than turn both sides and cook/bake few minutes. Than serve it hot with favourite dishes.

Besides the fact that it was Dara Singh saying those famous lines, the sentence holds so very true…the abundance of flavor and nutrition packed in. Again I have made Makki Roti or Makai Roti (Maize Flour Indian Flat Braed) with some Matar Aloo Sabzi made from dried yellow peas curry. I'm so fond of Makai Roti!!! The way traditional Makki Roti is made I do not follow that recipe.
