- Prepare 2 cups chana dal (Chickpea lentil)
- Take 1 cup moong dal(yellow split gram)

- Take 1 spoon red chilli paste

- Take 1 spoon peanuts

This recipe is very similar to medu vada recipe. We love vada sambar a lot so sometimes I make this simple urad dal vada instead of medu vada. Crispy dal vadas dunked in hot rasam, this snack is sure to shake you awake! The tangy, spicy flavour of the rasam complements the texture as well as the taste of the chana dal vadas very well, resulting in a wholly satisfying experience!
Steps to make The South Indian Dal Vada:
- Firstly soak all the lentils together for 4 hours.
- Now drain the water properly.
- Dry the lentils with soft cotton cloth.
- Now take 1 cup of lentils and keep aside.
- Take a mixer jar and put rest of the lentils.add salt and grind it coarsely.
- Take a pan. Put this coarsely lentils mixture, add 1 cup whole lentils, add lil salt, ginger paste, green chilli paste and curry leaves.
- Mix all these together very nicely.
- Now heat a oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Meanwhile make the small balls of this lentils mixture and press with your finger tips and make shape like Pattice. Make all the Pattice and keep aside.
- Once the oil is heat up. Deep fry the lentils balls.
- Keep frying till it turns to brown and crispy.
- Flame should be medium to high. Don't change while frying.
- Now take it out in a absorbent paper.
- Let's make chutney. Take a mixer jar and add coriander, mint leaves, peanuts, salt, Green chillies and lemon juice. Add little bit of water and grind it well. The green spicy chutney is ready.
- Now serve Dal vada with green chutney.
