- In a tawa dry roast walnut till light brown
- From this take 1 cup walnut and coarsely grind them after cooling
- Then in a pan add ghee.When ghee melts add grinded walnut and saute till aromatic.
- Then add milk,saffron strands and sugar.Boil them and reduce to thick consistency.Till oil separates.There will be spluttering so be careful.
- When oil separates add rest of walnut roasted by chopping and cardamom.Cook for 5 minutes more.
- You can serve as such or keep in freezer and make hard and cut into pieces.
- I had rolled halwa after little cooling in aluminium foil by dusting walnut powder and kept in freezer for 2hour or till hardens and cut into pieces.You can enjoy any way you like.
- Note:You can serve halwa pieces with rabadi.Also can substitute sugar with jaggery.
