- Place a lid on the pot and bring to the boil. Then turn heat down and simmer for 5/7 mins or so. Then leave with the lid on to rest for 10 mins before fluffing up with a fork. Garnish with chopped almonds and coriander.
- I made a vegetable curry on the side made with lots of onions, tomatoes, aubergines, spinach and peppers in oil, and a pinch of cumin. It went nicely with the biryani.
Instant Pot Chicken Biryani So the basic ingredients we have in our pantry anyway were: natural full yoghurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric, chillis, lemon juice, onion, hot red chilli powder, basmati rice, ghee, coriander leaves, mint leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom pods, bay leaves, cumin seeds, salt, milk and saffron. Biryani is a rice dish with vegetables, chicken or fish marinated in yogurt and warm spices such as turmeric, red chili powder and garam masala. It is traditionally slow cooked by layering the marinated meat or vegetables over the rice and is topped with caramalized onions, aromatic saffron and fresh cilantro or mint. Wash the rice until it runs clear then leave to one side. Heat a little coconut oil in a saucepan on a medium heat.
