Paneer slices can also be grilled in an oven or griller. Paneer is cooked to remove the raw taste of the paneer and make it more flavourful. The Veg Club sandwich can also be made with fresh soft bread and the toasted on a tava or a grill or can be had as it is without toasting. Paneer Sandwich is a quick and easy to make.
Instructions to make Paneer culb sandwich:
- For paneer–
- Cut the paneer into 1cm thick slab and sprinkle the spices, marinate it with ginger and garlic paste, on both the sides of paneer.
- Heat oil on a grill pan and grill the paneer slabs from both sides.
- Remove from heat and further slice the paneer and keep aside for later use.
- For onion
- Heat oil and butter in a pan, add sliced onions, black pepper powder, green chilli readymade Chinese sauce and salt, cook until the onion are caramelized, add little water if the onions get too dry.
- For spread–
- In a bowl add mayonnaise, black pepper powder, garlic paste, salt and Italian herbs. And mix well.
- For cheese and tomatoes–
- We need 2 cheese slices only.
- Cut the tomatoes in round shapes.
- For French fries
- Heat oil in a wok or pan. Keep the flame to medium. This flame range will depend on the heaviness of the pan. For a heavy pan or wok, keep medium flame and for a less heavy pan, use a medium-low flame. The oil should have a medium-low heat.
- Now add the potatoes in the oil. You can fry in two to three batches. I fried in two batches. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Fry french fries till crisp and golden. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
- In the French fries, add salt, peri peri powder and black pepper powder and mix well.
- Heat a butter on a pan, toast the bread from both sides.
- For the club sandwich
- Remove from the pan, spread the garlic mayonnaise on the toasted slice.
- Add grill paneer strips and on top add the caramelized onions.
- Place another garlic toasted bread slice with garlic mayonnaise spread.
- Add cheese slice and on top add the tomato and sprinkle black pepper powder.
- Place another garlic toasted bread slice with garlic mayonnaise spread.
- Add the peri peri french fries
- Place the toasted bread slice with garlic mayonnaise spread facing inside to make a sandwich.
- Cut it into 2 and serve it with chilli sauce or French fries.
Paneer Sandwich is healthy and tastes delicious. This is a perfect lunch box option, especially for the kids. Heat oil in a pan, add onions and saute for a min. Add salt and spice powders and mix well. Add in ketchup and mix well.
