- Get 1 cup Fermented Idli batter –
- Prepare 1/2 cup grated Carrot
- Get 1-2 finely chopped Green chilli
- Make ready 2 springs finely chopped Curry leaves

- Make ready 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
- Get 1 tbsp Bengal gram
- Get 1 tbsp Urad dal
- Take 2 tbsp Oil
- Make ready to taste Salt
Idli benefits your body by absorbing more nutrients and keeping your gut healthy. Take idli batter in a mixing bowl, add carrot puree, onions and green chillies and mix well. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds, split black gram, split Bengal gram and curry leaves and saute till the grams turn a light brown. Idli or idly is a type of savoury rice cake, originating from the Indian subcontinent, popular as breakfast foods in Southern India.
Instructions to make Carrot idli:
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram & urad dal. - Then add curry leaves, green chilli & carrot sauté. Then add salt, turmeric& red chilli powder sauté then cut off heat. Finally add coriander mix well.
- In a bowl, add idli batter, carrot mixture & mix well. Heat idli cooker with water & let it boil. - Then grease idly plates with oil, pour batter in each cavity, place it in boiling water, cover lid and steam it for 8 to 10 min. Then Serve hot with chutney.
