Serve as a main dish for a finger-licking dinner! Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onions and saute till it is transculent. Add the rice, peas, carrots, mix it throughly now add the hot water and salt mix it gently and cover the pan. Simmer on a slow flame till the rice is done.

- Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and keep aside. - - Grind ginger, garlic into paste. Slice onion and green chilli into thin slices.
- Chop carrot into small pieces. - - Heat kadai add oil, ghee. Once hot add cinnamon and cloves powder. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until turns golden.
- Now add onion. Saute for 2 minutes. Add green chilli, carrot, peas. Saute couple of minutes. Add salt. - - Now add rice and saute 1 minute. Add 1 1/4 cup of water, adjust the salt and cook in pressure cooker or rice cooker until rice done. - - If you are not soaking the rice add 2 cups of water.
- Peas Carrot Pulav is ready to serve.
For cooking peas pulao in a pot or pan, fry the spices, sauté the onions, add the green peas and rice. Cover the pot tightly with a lid and cook until all the water has been absorbed and the rice grains are tender and fluffy. Keep a watch on the rice while they are cooking. Once the water starts boiling, add the rinsed and drained rice to the pan. Peas pulao goes well with a yogurt raita or a nice veg curry like veg kurma, restaurant style paneer butter masala or paneer makhani or non-veg gravy.
